Dear Tea Party Performers,
Here is a list of helpful reminders for Saturday, November 12th - Our Nutcracker Tea Party Fundraising Event:
This Wednesday Rehearsal (tomorrow):
5:00 Class - Please be sure to be ready to go with pointe shoes on and warmed up right at 5:00, so that we may do a quick barre warm up and then straight into rehearsals. We may be rehearsing separately at first, and then with the snow choir, depending on space and the choir director's preference.
Snow Scene Rehearsal - We will continue our Snow Scene rehearsal this Wednesday from 5:15 - 6:30.
5:15 Choir - The St. Thomas choir director will also be there at 5:15 to rehearse the children's choir for the snow scene. It is possible that they will also join our rehearsal.
**I would like everyone to feel clean, rehearsed and prepared for the Performance on Saturday.
Saturday Tea Party
Makeup: Please wear light stage makeup for this event/performance. The makeup should be more than street makeup, but not quite as heavy as stage makeup.
No fake eyelashes necessary for this event, only thick mascara please.
Red lipstick.
Hair:
Snow Corps De Ballet - Should wear the hair up in a high bun (in line with the jaw line).
Act II Soloists - Please check with me about your individual hair styles. Each one is slightly different.
ALL Female Dancers: Please be sure to use hair nets and plenty of bobby pins, so that the bun is neat and without pieces of hair sticking out. The bun should be flat to the head, not a ball on the head. Use hairspray, gel, moose and/or water to keep hair smooth and without wispies. Please bring plenty of extra supplies in case we need to adjust hair at the studio. However, all dancers should arrive to the studio prepared with hair and makeup already applied. It will be too hectic to try to do everyone's hair and makeup from scratch at the studio. It is also best to put up the hair into a neat bun when it is wet, right out of the shower, so it will be smooth and without wispies, so it is best to do this at home. Then, we can just touch it up a bit before the show.
